Department of Hospitality and Institutional Management

Welcome to the Department of Hospitality and Institutional Management at The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP). We pride ourselves on fostering a culture of gradual growth, ensuring every trainee develops at a pace that guarantees mastery. At TENP, we strongly believe this is a place where competence leads to confidence. Our department offers highly practical, modular Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) courses. To ensure our graduates are fully prepared for the modern workforce, all our programs are strictly aligned with industry Occupational Standards (OS).

The courses offered in the department include:
Level 6 (Diploma) : Food and Beverage Management, Catering and Accommodation Management, Tour and Travel Management, Fashion Design
Level 5 (Certificate) : Food and Beverage Operations, Catering and Accommodation Operations, Tour Guiding, Fashion Design

• A Culture of Excellence: Our trainees actively participate in TVET Fairs up to the national level, consistently showcasing innovations and competing in rigorous skills competitions. We are also proud participants in World Skills competitions, where our students have notably won Medals, and in the Ladha za Africa Competition, a global competition.
• Strategic Partnerships: Through our active sponsorship partnership with the Tourism Levy Fund, we support trainees with vital upskilling opportunities, specifically targeting Level 3 and Level 4 courses.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Courses
Are you already skilled but lack the formal certification? We offer specialized courses under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program, some of which are supported by the Tourism Levy Fund. Please note: Information and registration for these RPL courses are found within the RPL Coordinator's office. The RPL courses offered under our department include: Accommodation Operations, Baking, Bartending, Fashion Design, Food and Beverage Production (Cookery), Food and Beverage Service (Waiter), Barista Skills ,Mixology
