The Eldoret National Polytechnic (TENP) on Thursday signed a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tindiret Technical and Vocational College (TVC), officially accrediting the institution as an RPL Assessment Centre under TENP during a ceremony held at the Eldoret National Polytechnic grounds.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Tindiret TVC Principal Mr. Patrick Tororei, who was accompanied by a delegation from his institution, lauded TENP’s partnership, describing it as a key milestone in strengthening skills recognition and expanding access to formal certification for individuals with competencies acquired through informal and non-formal learning systems. He said the initiative will significantly enhance employability and career progression for skilled individuals by enabling them to obtain nationally recognized certificates.
The Eldoret National Polytechnic Chief Principal Dr. Charles Koech, in his remarks, welcomed the partnership, describing it as a strategic step in advancing Recognition of Prior Learning and strengthening competency-based certification pathways within the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector. He noted that the collaboration reinforces TENP’s role in promoting skills recognition and inclusive access to certification.
Dr. Koech further reaffirmed TENP’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Tindiret TVC through close collaboration in implementing the RPL framework, supported by clear quality standards and the issuance of nationally recognized certificates, to boost employability and career advancement opportunities.
